This year marks the 75th Araw Ng Dabaw celebration for all Davaeoños. One of the highlights is the search of the Mutya ng Dabaw which was held last March 14, 2012 at the Davao City Recreational Center or the Almendras Gym. Marriane Mae Te, a 21 year old print model and an AB Hotel and Restaurant Management graduate of the Philippine Women’s College was crowned as the Mutya ng Dabaw 2012. Miss Dorothy Maruel Ibañez, a registered nurse was crowned as Diwa ng Davao or first runner up. Miss Jhoanna Myles Te, a registered nurse also was crowned as the Sinag ng Dabaw or second runner-up. An AB Communication Arts graduate from the University of the Immaculate Conception, Maria Theresa Tan bag the third runner-up or the Pag-asa ng Dabaw, while Miss Jazzel Therese Gomez an Ateneo de Davao University law student bag the fourth runner-up.
The coronation night ended successful and everyone is invited to celebrate with us. As Marriane Mae Te said “living in Davao is close to perfection as it is the only place that offers the beauty and bounty of the highlands and the islands”.
