It is the the day of sacrifice. It is considered as the great ‘Id in comparison to ‘Id al FUr (lesser ‘id). As on the day of ‘Id al-Fitr, it is observed with special prayer in the morning and the distribution of the flesh of animals (slaughtered as sacrifice) among relatives, neighbors, and the poor. This day is locally known as the Hari-raya Hajji. This is commemorated on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah.
