Simbang Gabi

One of the longest and most popular traditions especially among Filipinos is the Simbang Gabi or the Misa de Gallo. It is a nine-day novena to the Blessed Mother. The novena begins on December 16 as early as 4:00 o’clock in the morning and ends on Christmas Eve which is to welcome the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. It is a significant moment because it strengthens relationships among family members most importantly it will intensify our faith to God. It doesn’t matter if you complete the nine mornings novena or not but what is important is the disposition of the person who receives the blessing of the Lord.
