Beware of Dogs

Have you or anybody from the family experienced bitten by a dog? I had a bad experienced about it last December 27, 2010. I was bitten by our pet dog which I did not expect him to do it to me. I was shocked and traumatized of the incidence that I already hate to see any dogs. All I can advice to anybody who experienced the same thing is, don’t panic. That is the best way to react when somebody gets bitten and to do the right thing. Below are some of the basic steps to do when you or any family member are bitten by a dog.
1.      Seek medical attention and initially treat the victim. Wash the bite with soap and water to help avoid infection. If there is any bleeding, apply pressure on the wound using a towel or a clean cloth. For more assurance, you go to the nearest animal bite center for proper treatment.
2.      Make sure others are not in danger when the dog is still around. If the dog is still in the area, make sure other people are kept safe.
3.      Find the dog’s identity. It is very important especially if the dog is not own by you. You need to identify whether it is a stray dog or own by your neighbors so that you can inform them the incident and ask for financial assistance.
Always have presence of mind when a dog bites occurs to you or to your family member.
