Don't Leave it Too Late or Soon you will Regret....

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller
buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but
narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less,
we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses
and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time.
We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge,
but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems,
more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly,
laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up
too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too
much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.
We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life.
We've added years to life not life to years. We've been
all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble
crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered
outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things,
but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've
conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write
more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less.
We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more
computers to hold more information, to produce more
copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion,
big men and small character, steep profits and shallow
relationships. These are the days of two incomes but
more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These
are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway
morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills
that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a
time when there is much in the showroom window and
nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can
bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose
either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones,
because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to
you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up
and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you,
because that is the only treasure you can give with
your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and
your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and
an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep
inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for
someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time
to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we
take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

(words from George Carlin)

Computer Gender

Do you think computers have gender?
I would like to share this forwarded email from my friend and everyone who read this article will make their own choice of what is the correct gender of a computer. What do you think it is?
A Spanish teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine. For instance, "house" is feminine - "la casa." However, "pencil" is masculine - "el lapiz."

A student asked, "What gender is 'computer'?" Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether "computer" should be a masculine or a feminine noun. Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation.

The men's group decided that "computer" should definitely be of the feminine gender ("la computadora"), because:
1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic;
2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;
3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval; and
4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.

The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be Masculine ("el computador"), because:
1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on;
2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves;
3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and
4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.

WHO DO YOU THINK WON???

Judy Ann and Ryan Agoncillo Wedding

I've been an avid fan of this two celebrities that's why when I heard the news I immediately open the site of abs-cbn for further information. And it is confirm because of the pictures posted in the site.
Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo finally tied the knot this morning at the San Juan Nepomuceno Church in San Juan, Batangas in the presence of close family and friends. Juday and Ryan successfully avoided the media and took everyone by surprise when news broke out at 8 AM, right after the wedding rites officiated by Fr. Tito Caluag.

The entourage is composed of Principal Sponsors Jane Buencamino (Judy Ann’s assistant), Suzy Entrata-Abrera (Ryan’s friend and former co-host for a morning show), Director Rory Quintos, Mon Isberto (also a friend and former co-host of Ryan’s), photographer Bien Bautista and Benjie Gonzales (Ryan’s uncle). Megastar Sharon Cuneta took on the duties of the Matron-of-Honor while Ryan’s brother Dondi was elected the Best Man. Agot Asidro, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez were also present to sing during the rites.

The top five Cancer-causing Food

This is not a campaign against the makers of this product but we are just being reminded that too much eating of these kind of foods may have an effect to our health. So to stay healthy, always consider what the foods can give to our body not only the satisfaction that we get from it.

1. Hot dogs
Because they are high in nitrates, the Cancer Prevention Coalition advises that children eat no more than 12 hot dogs a month. If you can't live without hot dogs, buy those made without sodium nitrate.

2. Processed meats and bacon
Also high in the same sodium nitrates found in hot dogs, bacon, and other processed meats raise the risk of heart disease. The saturated fat in bacon also contributes to cancer.

3. Doughnuts
Doughnuts are cancer-causing double trouble. First, they are made with white flour, sugar, and hydrogenated oils, then fried at high temperatures. Doughnuts, says Adams , may be the worst food you can possibly eat to raise your risk of cancer.

4. French fries
Like doughnuts, French fries are made with hydrogenated oils and then fried at high temperatures. They also contain cancer- causing acryl amides which occur during the frying process. They should be called cancer fries, not French fries, said Adams .

5. Chips, crackers and cookies
All are usually made with white flour and sugar. Even the ones whose labels claim to be free of trans-fats generally contain small amounts of trans-fats.

A date with the Lord

I was away for three days because I have a very important date to a very special Someone to all... Jesus. First and foremost I really don't have the intention to joined the yearly retreat given to us by our company but there is really somebody pushing me to joined. So at the last minute I decided to joined. Unlike last year that we held it in Betania Retreat House Baguio City, now we held at St. Benedictine Retreat House, Ulas Davao City.
During the first day of the retreat while we are having our orientation, I already have somehow an idea of how our session will come along. My impression was boring, due to the fact that as compared last year the facilitator was so jolly but despite of what has been going Fr. Ruel Dela |Cruz, SSS our facilitator done his best to inspire us his sharing to us entitled as "Becoming an Easter People".
I was really struck to the topic about brokenness that even Jesus himself experienced brokenness when he was crucified to the cross which turn into a blessings for all humankind who were saved from sins. So my realization after a three days of knowing more about the works of God was despite of the brokenness we experienced in life we should be thankful about it because in the end there is a purpose why it happen and it become a blessings in a way God wants to, we just have to recognized it.

Resurrection Day!

Resurrection day

by Rick Price

I've been beaten down and broken
Twisting in the windLost and forgotten, left for dead
Where there used to be a fire
Burning in my chestJust a pile of cold grey ashes instead
But it's gonna be alright
Yeah, it's gonna be okay
I know I'll come back to life
Come that Resurrection Day
In the land of the living is where I wanna be
Oh, but I can't make it back alone
Someone on the other side has got to hear my cry
Come and roll away that stone
Then it's gonna be alright
Yeah, it's gonna be okay
I know I'll come back to life
Come that Resurrection Day
On my knees I pray
Come Resurrection Day
May the resurrection of Christ makes us change into a better being not just during holy week but throughout our entire life.

Ginger also helps reduce chest congestion and is good expectorant and pulmonary antiseptic. It is effective in respiratory symptoms, coughs, fever, headache, colds and chills. A hot salabat can bring relief from those ailments. Ginger poultice can relieve joint swell and arthritic pain. Tonsilitis and toothaches can be remedied by a piece of ginger. In cases like sore throat, chew a piece of ginger till the sore is relieved. Ginger hot tea is also for abdominal pains and spasms. Travelers are advised to take one cup of ginger tea 30 minutes before the trip. For those suffering from seasickness bring along small pieces of ginger fro chewing. Chew ginger to prevent nausea and dizziness. And also relieves for those with migraine and headaches.
So aside from using ginger as spice it can also be used to heal physical ailments. It's just within our reach, very affordable and available anytime.

Power of Antioxidants

Antioxidants are compounds in foods that can stop free radicals from doing harm in the body. Because they may also boost the immune system, they are a big help in lowering the risk of cancer and infection. Free radicals are the unstable oxygen molecules that have lost an electron through exposure to sunlight, pollution and daily wear and tear. Scientists believe that these free radicals are the primary cause behind heart disease, cancer, aging, loss of vision due to cataract and other diseases. Free radicals cause cholesterol to stick to the artery walls leading to the hardening of the arteries and damaging the DNA inside the cells. This results to cell mutation that leads to cancer. That is why antioxidants are very important in our body. We can get this from fruits and vegetables. When fruits and vegetables are eaten protective compounds enter the bloodstream stepping between healthy molecules and the free radicals and then offer their own electrons thus neutralizing the free radicals and freeing the healthy cells from being damaged by the free radicals. Antioxidants are not stored in the body, so they need to be replaced daily. So we need to eat fruits and vegetables everyday to have a healthy body.

The Scientific Death of Jesus

At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to the death penalty.

That was then the "worst" death. Only the worst criminals could die like Jesus. And with Jesus things were worse, because not all the criminals condemned to death could receive nails on their hands and feet.

Of course, nails... Big nails! Each was 15 a 20 cm long, with a point of 6 cm. Another point was sharp. The nails were carved into the pulses, and not into the palms, as we are used to hearing. In the pulse, there's a tendon which extends till the shoulder, and when the nails were being hammered, that tendon broke, obliging Jesus to reinforce all the muscles of his back, so that he could breathe as He was loosing all the air from his lungs.

In this way, He was forced to support Himself onto the nail carved in his feet, which was bigger than those carved into his pulses, for both feet were carved together. And, as his feet could not endure for a long time without tearing, Jesus was forced to alternate that "cycle" so that He could breathe.

Jesus endured that reality over 3 hours.

Yes, over 3 hours! Long time, isn't it? Few minutes before He died, Jesus was not bleeding anymore.

He was simply pouring water from his cuts and wounds.
When we imagine Him injured, we only picture Him with injuries, but it is not enough; His wounds were true holes, made in his body.

He had no more blood left to bleed; He only poured water
The Human body is composed of nearly 3.5 liters of blood (for adults).

Jesus poured all 3.5 liters of his blood; He had three nails hammered into his members; a crown of thorns on his head and, on top of that, a Roman soldier nailed a spear into his chest.

All these without mentioning the humiliation He experienced after carrying his own cross for almost 2 kilometers, while the crowd spat on his face and threw stones (the cross was almost 30 kg in weight, only on its highest parts, were his hands nailed).

Jesus had to experience all this, so that you can have free access to God. So that your sins could be "washed".

May this season of lent makes us realize the sacrifices of Jesus for us, the sinners and commemorate through repentance and penance not only by making the occasion for outing and vacation but a deeper meaning for the death of Jesus.
