A Seminar on Quality Customer Service and Why Listen

It ends well and successful! This is my personal evaluation of the two days seminar we have last September 5 and 12, 2009 held in the audio visual room of UIC main campus. Though it was just about 3 hour’s seminar but it gave me the opportunity to reflect - am I doing the right way?
The first day topic was about "Quality Customer Service". Being the front liner of the institution it is our duty to give the best services to our clients who are the students, parents and visitors. Because of them we exist. But sometimes in a day to day activities and routinely works it cannot be avoided that we encountered a harsh clients that resulted to misunderstanding and conflicts. So, this seminar served as a re-awakening and opening of new ideas, that we need to control our emotions in order to create and peaceful environment not only to the clients but to the co-workers also.
On the second day, the topic was "Why Listen? Why is there a need for listening? Even in our own families we need to listen to each member because we never understand each other if we will not listen to them. There must be a give and take situation- the speaker and a listener in order to received the message clearly and act on it correctly.
We are so thankful to our resource speaker in the person of Mr. Rene Lizada who gave his best and impart his knowledge and experiences about the topic.

My Out of Town Trip

To my fellow bloggers and friends in the blogging community, maybe you are wondering that I was very silent (no postings and chat either in the shoutmix) for the past six days, it's because I was out of town to accompany our recruitment team and conducted entrance exams for incoming freshmen to Surallah, Banga and Marbel South Cotabato. I had a good experienced to the place. In fact I had gained extra pounds(lol) because we ate a lot. Actually we're back in Davao City on Sunday night and had my rest day on Monday. I supposed to work on Tuesday but I need to accompany my mother to the doctor for checked-up. And on Wednesday it was declared by the President as non-working holiday to pay respect for the burial of President Corazon Aquino who passed away last August 1, 2009. So, it was indeed a long vacation for me. I need to double time for the missing days for my blog hopping. I need to have my droppings now.

Additional Link on My Sidebar

I just made this additional link or layout of my site yesterday and I am so happy every time I open my site. It really pays to visit other blog sites wherein you can view, read some information that you can apply this to your own site. Maybe you wonder what I am talking about. There is new in my sidebar. That is my flag counter. I saw it when I had my droppings of entrecard and tried installing it. When I open my site this morning I feel so happy, excited and flattered to see people from different countries visiting my site. Sorry I cannot remember the blogsite where I saw the flag counter but a million thanks to you. Want to try? Just click the link and you will be redirected to the site. It’s really a different feeling I tell you.

Philosophy on Love

19. "Ang pag-ibig parang imburnal...nakakatakot mahulog...at kapag nahulog ka, it's either by accident or talagang tanga ka.."

A Love Story

One day, I woke early in the morning to watch the sunrise. Ah the beautyof God's creation is beyond description. As I watched, I praised God forHis beautiful work. As I sat there, I felt the Lord's presence with me.He asked me, "Do you love me?"I answered, "Of course, I'm the highest of your creation!"Then He asked, "If you were physically handicapped, would you still loveme?"I was perplexed. I looked down upon my arms, legs and the rest of my bodyand wondered how many things I wouldn't be able to do, the things that Itook for granted. And I answered, "It would be tough Lord, but I wouldstill love You."Then the Lord said, "If you were blind, would you still love my creation?"How could I love something without being able to see it? Then I thought ofall the blind people in the world and how many of them still loved God andHis creation. So I answered, "Its hard to think of it, but I would stilllove you."The Lord then asked me, "If you were deaf, would you still listen to myword?"How could I listen to anything being deaf? Then I understood. Listening toGod's Word is not merely using our ears, but our hearts. I answered, "Itwould be tough, but I would still listen to Your word."The Lord then asked, "If you were mute, would you still praise My Name?"How could I praise without a voice? Then it occurred to me: God wants usto sing from our very heart and soul. It never matters what we sound like. And praising God is not always with a song, but when we are persecuted, wegive God praise with our words of thanks. So I answered, "Though I couldnot physically sing, I would still praise Your Name. And the Lord asked, "Do you really love Me?"With courage and a strong conviction, I answered boldly, "Yes Lord! I loveYou because You are the One and true God!"I thought I had answered well, but God asked, "THEN WHY DO YOU SIN?"I answered, "Because I am only human. I am not perfect.""THEN WHY IN TIMES OF PEACE DO YOU STRAY THE FURTHEST? WHY ONLY IN TIMESOF TROUBLE DO YOU PRAY THE EARNEST?"No answers. Only tears. The Lord continued: "Why only sing at fellowships and retreats? Why seekMe only in times of worship? Why ask things so selfishly? Why ask things sounfaithfully?"The tears continued to roll down my cheeks."Why are you ashamed of Me? Why are you not spreading the Good News? Whyin times of persecution, you cry to others when I offer My shoulder to cryon? Why make excuses when I give you opportunities to serve in My Name?"I tried to answer, but there was no answer to give."You are blessed with life. I made you not to throw this gift away. I haveblessed you with talents to serve Me, but youcontinue to turn away. I have revealed My Word to you, but you do not gainin knowledge. I have spoken to you but your ears were closed. I have shownMy blessings to you, but your eyes were turned away. I have sent youservants, but you sat idly by as they were pushed away. I have heard yourprayers and I have answered them all.""DO YOU TRULY LOVE ME?"I could not answer. How could I? I was embarrassed beyond belief. I had noexcuse. What could I say to this? When I my heart had cried out and thetears had flowed, I said, "Please forgive me Lord. I am unworthy to be Yourchild."The Lord answered, "That is My Grace, My child."I asked, "Then why do you continue to forgive me? Why do You love me so?"Then God the Father answered, " Because you are My highest creation. Youare becoming my child ONLY after accepting my begotten Son that I sent tothe world! And therefore I will never abandon nor forsake you. Whenknocking the door of blessing it's always open for youWhen you cry, I will have compassionWhen you shout with joy, I will laugh with youWhen you are down, I will encourage youWhen you fall, I will raise you upWhen you are tired, I will carry youand MOST OF ALL ''MY HOLY SPIRIT WILL COME TO YOU WHEN YOU SINCERELY OPENYOUR HEART/MIND and HUMBLY SAYING 'FORGIVE ME FOR MY SINS I NEED YOU TOCOME TO MY HEART RIGHT NOW FILL MY LIFE WITH YOUR JOY & TRUTH HELP ME TOFOLLOW YOU & BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS ''Never had I cried so hard before. How could I have been so cold? Howcould I have hurt God as I had done? I asked God, "How much do You loveme?"The Lord stretched out His arms, and I saw His nail-pierced hands. I boweddown at the feet of Christ, my Savior. And for the first time I experiencedthe LOVE OF GOD.

Beauty of A Woman

Why Women Cry:
A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?" "Because I'm a woman," she told him.

"I don't understand," he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will."

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"

"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, "God, why do women cry so easily?"

God said:
"When I made the woman she had to be special.
I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort.
I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.
I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.
gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.
I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.
I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.
And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."
"You see my son," said God, "the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."

Daily Rules from God for 2009

1. Wake Up!! Decide to have a good day. 'Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.' Psalms 118:24

2. Dress Up!! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. 'The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart.' I Samuel 16:7

3. Shut Up!! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. 'He who guards his lips guards his soul.' Proverbs 13:3

4. Stand Up!!... For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.. 'Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good...' Galatians 6:9-10

5. Look Up!!... To the Lord.
'I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.' Phillippians 4:13

6. Reach Up!!... For something higher. 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, And He will direct your path.'
Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up!!... Your Prayers.
'Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING.'
Philippians 4:6

My First Vehicular Accident

Every seconds of our life really counts, because we never know what will happen to us anytime. I never expect this to happen in my life, it’s really my first time ever. It happened last July 27, 2008 at 7:28 in the morning. We were on our way home from Bankerohan; we were riding a motorcycle with my husband and daughter when a taxi cab suddenly had a U-turn which made us bumped into it. We felt into the road. As if I was out of the world for a second since I don’t know what happened next, what was my position when I felt down, all I remembered was when I was helped by my husband to stand up, my lips was bleeding my left knee was bleeding also, my child was crying and she had contusion on her head, my husband had a bruise on his right arm. Thanks be to God those were the only injuries that we had. We were brought to Davao Medical Hospital for check up and treatment. Though my injury was a little bit small but it was so painful even up to this time because it was on the knee. I was advice by the doctor to rest for 1 week. I really suffered the pain, I can’t walked properly even I took up already medicines and antibiotics. I was only healed by boiled guava leaves as cleansing. I can really testify the effectiveness of a guava leaves for cuts and wounds as cleansing because for about 2-3 days of using it, my wounds was healed.
Up to this time I cannot imagine myself having a vehicular accident. There are “what if” questions at the back of my mind and it makes me tremble whenever I remember the incident.

Proud Mom

Classes has just begun and everyone is busy especially the parents in preparing for the food for the children who are going to school. Being a mother is not really an easy task. I already have a student now she is still in her junior kinder level but since her school is so far from our house I really have to wake up early everyday to prepare everything. You have to be patient in waking her up, since there are times when she doesn’t get up from the bed because she’s still feeling sleepy. You have to give some convincing words so that she will get out from bed. Despite of those sacrifices everyday all of them will be out of my mind since she is doing well in school. Of course in her first one week she cried because of adjustment to the environment and fear. But as time passed she already adjusted and participated in the classroom activities. I feel so happy and proud of course as a mother when she showed a star on her arm because she participated in class and talked what they are doing in class wherein she participated and get involved in the activity. All of my tiredness is gone because my little child is doing well in school and I am proud of it. I hope she will continue her performance as the school ends.

The Day of Our Departure

Everyone was so excited including me of course because the day of our departure to our much awaited venue of our retreat has come which was in Baguio City. I already packed up my things to bring in my luggage. I set up my alarm clock at 3:45 am to prepare myself in going to the airport. My two companions already texted and called up because they too were excited. So I rode up a taxi and fetched them. At last we arrived at the airport, almost of our officemates were there already at the check-in counter. We deposited our baggage and went up at the departure lounge waiting for the time. A few moments later we were called to enter the plane. Everyone was so excited especially for the first timer to ride a plane; they were curious and observant to the people around and to the feelings inside the plane. We departed from Davao airport at exactly 7:30 and at exactly 9:15 we arrived at the Centennial airport in Manila. In a few moments the bus that would bring us to Baguio City arrived but the excitement and happiness turned into loneliness because one of our officemate lost her baggage. The airport personnel cannot locate it. We waited for almost 3 hours but the baggage cannot be located. She was already crying and so we decided to proceed to our way to Baguio City and we just let her borrowed clothes and other belongings to be used for the retreat. It was already 7:30 pm when we arrived in Betania Retreat House Baguio City. The Sisters were waiting for us. The weather was so cold and we have to wear our jacket to warm ourselves. We took up our dinner and after a brief orientation of the house rules, we went up to our respective room to rest and prepare for the first day of our Retreat. Despite of what happened to us along the way God is always with us because we arrived safe.

April Fools Day

April 1 is being commonly called “April Fools Day”. The date is observed on the first day of the month of April. It is a day in which people do something fool to create a lot of fun. On this day many people make jokes and tell false stories and later found to be false. But why it’s called April Fools and where it originated? There are several explanations for the origin. It was believed that April 1st was once New Year’s Day in France but later on Julian calendar came out and Pope Gregory officially declared that it will be changed to January 1st. It took some time for the people to accept the changes and continued to celebrate New Year’s Day on the 1st of April. That is why it was called April Fools meaning it was a false celebration. And it becomes a tradition until now of fooling somebody just for fun and enjoyment.
I can remember during my younger days when a relative told me that I have to bring something I guessed that’s a broom and I have to swept the playground after I finished, they all laughed at me telling that I was a victim, I was then a fool to follow what they have told me. I just make laugh at my actions and enjoyed with what happened.

God's Hidden Purpose.................

Have you experienced disappointment, discouragement and failures in life? How do you handle the situation? In my 33 years of living here on earth I already experienced moments of happiness and loneliness in life. During my younger years wherein I don’t have enough idea on what life is, I easily surrender, feel alone and even told to myself I want to die. I don’t like this kind of life, I don’t like the people around me, and they don’t love me. But when I encounter God during my retreat everything has changed. I became stronger and determined to pursue my dreams in life. I developed self-confidence and strong faith in God. And everything that I do always asked God’s wisdom to enlighten me in every decision that I made.
As the years passed I already have my owned family. My life now has changed. My focus now is how to have a happy and harmonious life. It can’t be avoided that especially now a days, I think everybody have experienced difficulties (financially) due to economic situations in our country. So in order to survive for the crisis I applied jobs from other countries. Opportunity is already there but then something happened which hinders my planned. I am so depressed and disappointed. It came to the point that I questioned God why it happened I been doing this for a good purpose but why? One day, I heard a sermon from a television show stating, that everything that happens here on earth God has a purpose why it happened. He has a message and it’s up to you to recognize it. God never gives problems wherein you cannot solve it. He gives it because He knows you can have the solution and He will guide you. I asked sorry to God and believe that He has other purpose for me.
